Tips for parents
- Turn the songs into real games: hide a toy and ask where it is in German, or fill a box and guess what's inside.
- Answer with the full sentence from the song (I have a ball, it's over there) so your child hears the whole pattern, not just the word.
- Swap roles: let your child ask the question and you answer, so they practise both halves.
Questions parents ask
- Why sentences and not just words?
- A sentence frame like I have… or where is…? works with every word your child already knows, so each new word becomes something they can actually say. Singing the frame over and over makes it automatic.
- Which German words are in these everyday sentence songs?
- 42 key words and phrases, including ich habe (I have), ich habe einen Ball (I have a ball), ich habe zwei Hände (I have two hands), hast du…? (do you have…?), ja hab ich (yes I do), ich habe keinen Hund (I don't have a dog), ein Bruder (a brother), eine kleine Schwester (a little sister). The full list is above, and every song page shows the complete lyrics with translation.
- Are the German everyday sentence songs free?
- The lyrics, translations and word lists here are free to read. Playing the songs is part of Premium, which you can try free for 7 days. The first unit, greeting songs, is free forever.
- How long are the songs?
