Language Learning with Songs (“we,” “us”) is a Spanish-through-songs learning service for young children, operated by Nordruhe (Christoph Sacher), Argentinierstraße 29/24, 1040 Vienna, Austria. We are the data controller for the information described below. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Email office@nordruhe.de.
Built for children, with parents in control
Accounts are created and controlled by a parent or guardian (18+). Children do not create accounts, log in on their own, enter payment details, or communicate with anyone through the service. Billing and settings sit behind a parent gate.
No ads or behavioral tracking inside the app
The child-facing app contains no advertising and no third-party behavioral tracking. We never sell or share a child's personal information, and we never use a child's data for advertising. Songs simply play — nothing follows your child around the internet.
Our marketing website does use advertising cookies
To be transparent: our public marketing pages (the ones you're on before signing in) use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and conversion measurement so we can advertise to adultsand understand which ads lead to sign-ups. This is directed at parents, not children, and applies only to the marketing site — never inside the child app. You can opt out via your browser or device ad settings and through Meta's ad preferences.
What we collect
- Parent account: email address and (via our auth provider) sign-in details.
- Billing: handled by Stripe. We receive a customer ID and subscription status — we never see or store full card numbers.
- Child profile:a first name (or nickname), a chosen avatar, and learning progress (songs played, words learned) so we can personalize the experience and show you how they're doing.
- Marketing site only: standard analytics and the advertising identifiers described above.
COPPA (children's privacy)
We align with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. We collect only what's needed to run the learning experience, a parent provides consent at sign-up, and a parent may review, correct, or delete their family's data at any time by contacting us. We do not condition a child's participation on disclosing more than is reasonably necessary.
Who processes data for us
We use trusted providers strictly to run the service, under contracts that limit their use of your data:
- Clerk — account sign-in and authentication
- Stripe — payment processing and subscriptions
- Neon — secure database hosting
- Cloudflare — delivery of song audio
- Vercel — website and app hosting
- Meta Platforms — advertising measurement, marketing site only
How long we keep it
We keep account and child-profile data while your account is active. If you cancel and ask us to delete your data, we remove it (except limited records we must keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons, such as invoices). Request deletion any time at office@nordruhe.de.
International transfers
We operate from Austria (EU). Some providers process data in the United States and other countries; where required we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data; object to or restrict certain processing; and request a copy of it (GDPR). California residents may request the categories and specifics of data collected and its deletion, and we do not sell personal information (CCPA/CPRA). Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your family's information and will notify you of a breach where the law requires.
Changes
If we make material changes, we'll update this page and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email.
