Italian Everyday Sentence Songs for Kids

I have…, there is…, where is…?, whose is it?: the next sentences a child needs after I like and I want. These Italian songs build them inside games — a mystery box, hide-and-seek, a lost-and-found basket — with every line next to its English meaning.

Tips for parents

  • Turn the songs into real games: hide a toy and ask where it is in Italian, or fill a box and guess what's inside.
  • Answer with the full sentence from the song (I have a ball, it's over there) so your child hears the whole pattern, not just the word.
  • Swap roles: let your child ask the question and you answer, so they practise both halves.

Questions parents ask

Why sentences and not just words?
A sentence frame like I have… or where is…? works with every word your child already knows, so each new word becomes something they can actually say. Singing the frame over and over makes it automatic.
