German songs for the classroom

In a classroom, songs do a lot of work: they gather the group, mark transitions and get wiggly children moving. The German songs slot straight into those moments: a hello song for circle time, the days of the week and the weather for the calendar, an action song between activities and a goodbye song at the end of the day.

Is it a good fit? Suitable for nursery, preschool, kindergarten and early primary classrooms (roughly ages 3–8).

Circle time

Open with the hello song, then the day of the week and the weather in German. It's a two-minute routine that the class will soon lead themselves.

Transitions and movement

Action songs (clap, jump, head and shoulders) are perfect between activities. Children follow the actions even before they know every German word.

Teachers don't need to be fluent

Every German line is paired with English, both in the audio and on screen. Many teachers learn the words alongside their class.
