Tips for parents

• Play “I spy” with French color words on walks and in the supermarket.
• Sort crayons, socks or building blocks by color while the song plays, naming each pile in French.
• Ask “what color is it?” about things your child already loves; the answer is more fun when it's about their favourite toy.

Questions parents ask

Which colors do the songs teach in French?

The core colors children use daily: red, blue, yellow, green and friends, sung in different settings (a rainbow, fruit, the sky) so the words show up in context.

Which French words are in these color songs?

13 key words and phrases, including arc-en-ciel (rainbow), couleurs (colors), ciel (sky), briller (to shine), rouge (red), bleu (blue), jaune (yellow), vert (green). The full list is above, and every song page shows the complete lyrics with translation.

Are the French color songs free?

The lyrics, translations and word lists here are free to read. Playing the songs is part of Premium, which you can try free for 7 days. The first unit, greeting songs, is free forever.

How long are the songs?

Between 1:37 and 2:58 each, about 9 minutes for all 4. Short enough to replay, which is where most of the learning happens.
