Spanish songs for the classroom

In a classroom, songs do a lot of work: they gather the group, mark transitions and get wiggly children moving. The Spanish songs slot straight into those moments: a hello song for circle time, the days of the week and the weather for the calendar, an action song between activities and a goodbye song at the end of the day.

Is it a good fit? Suitable for nursery, preschool, kindergarten and early primary classrooms (roughly ages 3–8).

Circle time

Open with the hello song, then the day of the week and the weather in Spanish. It's a two-minute routine that the class will soon lead themselves.

Transitions and movement

Action songs (clap, jump, head and shoulders) are perfect between activities. Children follow the actions even before they know every Spanish word.

Teachers don't need to be fluent

Every Spanish line is paired with English, both in the audio and on screen. Many teachers learn the words alongside their class.

Good to know about Spanish: Spanish vowels are short and always sound the same (a, e, i, o, u = "ah, eh, ee, oh, oo"), so after a few songs most parents can read the lyrics aloud quite accurately.
